Overview

We aim to ensure biosafety compliance in the development, production, use, application, movement, and release of biotechnology products in Zimbabwe. Our main purpose is to protect human health and biodiversity by enforcing adherence to biotechnology and biosafety regulations and guidelines; overseeing the responsible application of biotechnology in all fields including agriculture, medical, environment, and industry.

Permits Issued

Permits are required for various biotechnology activities. These include, but are not limited to:

• Research and Development activities
• Field trials of genetically modified organisms (GMOs)
• Import and export of biotechnology products
• Commercial release of biotechnology products

Application Process

To apply for a permit, please complete the relevant application forms and submit them along with the required documentation. Ensure compliance with all biosafety regulations during your application process.
